The technology to lift concrete is centuries old. It is the same technology that is used to raise your car on a hydraulic lift at the car repair garage .Holes are drilled through the tilted concrete, usually one to two inches in diameter. A mixture of mortar and water is then pumped into these holes under pressure. This mixture has the consistency of a thick mortar. As it begins to flow beneath the slab, it exerts an equal pressure on every square inch of the concrete. Thus, if the pump produces just 50 to 100 pounds per square inch pressure (which isn't much) it can easily raise the slab.

Jaco also provides polyurethane foam concrete lifting to our customers. Polyurethane is the newest technology in lifting concrete. It is commonly used on roadways, commercial buildings and other high traffic areas.

Great question! Firstly, we believe it’s good for you to know that most concrete raising jobs will take between one to two (1-2) hours—start to finish—and your concrete will be ready for use immediately upon completion!

1. When you level your uneven concrete using poly foam concrete raising techniques, ⅝” injection holes are strategically drilled around the areas where the concrete is sunken and requires lifting.
2. The concrete raising equipment is contained in a truck or trailer, and has a sufficient length of hose to accommodate most locations, the hose is extended to reach the area in need of repair.
3. Once everything is prepped and the hose and materials are in place, the polyurethane foam is injected through the holes which fills the space underneath the concrete slab, using the concrete slab itself to drive the foam into the crevices, thereby lifting the concrete back to its original, correct level.
4. Upon completion of leveling the concrete, the injection hole(s) are filled discretely with new cement, allowing you to use your surface immediately.

Warehouses, factories and other locations that utilize heavy machinery can experience slab curl. The edges of the concrete slabs deflect up or down. This can damage machinery that travels over the slabs. Polyurethane foam injection will stabilize these slabs.

Industrial concrete floor joints need to transfer vertical loads placed on them.  Many warehouses now use machines that have small hard wheels that damage the joints.  Polyurethane injection will stabilize these joints, prolonging the life of machinery and the floor itself.

Slab/joint stabilization applications require the voids to be filled to eliminate movement and offer support. This type of foam is specifically designed for joint/slab stabilization applications due to its very long reaction time and minimal expansion strength. It will take longer to expand, allowing for better coverage under the slab or down a joint.
